At this year’s IPM from January 26-29, 2016 Selecta will be presenting highlights of the
assortment at its booth 2 D25 in hall 2.
Varieties of the market-leading series Christmas Feelings® are real ‘allround-talents’ for all pot sizes. From now on, the novelty Feelings Wonder will join this series having a sensationally bright red colour. It convinces – same as all other varieties of the Feelings family – by a huge density per sqm, a very healthy root system and a very good branching – the perfect variety for all producers. The Christmas Beauty series - especially interesting for retailers and florists with its dense, star-shaped bracts – now includes a very nice variety in a special colour. Christmas Beauty Marble is a new variety with wonderful marble coloured bracts. Also new in the Selecta programme are the three Princettia® varieties Princettia® Pure White, Princettia® Ultra Pink and Princettia® Indian Red. Hence, Selecta offers a whole assortment with Poinsettia varieties in any colour and all nine available Princettia® varieties under one-roof.
Highlight at the booth is the new Petunia variety NightSky. The uniqueness of the variety was confirmed by receiving the FleuroStar Award, the prize for varieties with the ‘wow’ effect at point of sale. The colour pattern of NightSky is worldwide unique. The flowers in dark violet with white spots seem like a beautiful starry sky. NightSky is very early with a semi-trailing, medium strong vigour and convinces with a very good branching and harmonious growth. The outstanding shelf life also remains at the consumer’s. The variety NightSky is suited for baskets and mixed containers and is approx. 1 m trailing.
A great range of pot carnations can be seen at the Selecta booth. Pink Kisses®, a spectacular stand-alone variety, captivates by beautiful, slightly fragrant flowers. Pink Kisses® is easy to cultivate in any given pot size and stands for ideal transport characteristics and an extremely long shelf life at the point of sale. Novelties of the season are Pillow Red and Pillow Purple – new types of garden carnations. The two varieties are very well branching and have a flat, mat-like growth habit. Pillow varieties are suited for pots, baskets and as a ground cover. Selling them as stand-alone products is recommended. The flowers with an interesting star-pattern also convince with an excellent shelf life and continuous flowering. It is possible to cultivate these varieties in cold greenhouses. Together with the ten varieties of the garden carnation line Diantica®, the eight varieties of the producers line Oscar® and the SuperTrouper® series with a great colour range, the Selecta carnation assortment fulfils all demands of producers and consumers alike.
Rave is the brand-new Calibrachoa line of five varieties with star-pattern. The striking flowers stand out and make the varieties a real eye-catcher from near and far. Rave Calibrachoa are the novelties that shouldn’t be missing in any assortment. The five varieties are early flowering with a medium-strong, good branching growth habit. Rave Calibrachoa are the novelties that shouldn’t be missing in any assortment. The line includes Rave Pink, Rave Violet, Rave Blue, Rave Peach and Rave Cherry.
Selecta offers 40 combinations of mixed baskets in their Trixi® programme and can therefore meet the producers’ demand. Trixi® Spa is an addition to the Calibrachoa combos Trixi® Spirit and Trixi® Shades of Blue. A new Verbena mix named Trixi® Soul sets strong accents in white, blue and purple. New interspecific mixes with Petunia are Trixi® Passion in violet and white and Trixi® Sensation creating a sensational long-distance effect in yellow, purple and violet. Further additions to the assortment are Trixi® Medley, Trixi® Romance and Trixi® Gisele.
Novita and Novita Classics are the Pelargonium novelties of the season 2015/2016 and fulfil right from the beginning all consumers expect from Regal Pelargonium. The varieties are heat tolerant, vigorous and continuously flowering. The bi-coloured flowers meet current trends and show a great colour contrast. The five Novita varieties are early flowering even without a cooling phase and can be cultivated together with bedding and balcony plants or in cold cultivation.
